The first thing you should know before proceeding is that it is dangerous to try and mow wet grass. There are several reasons to this, but perhaps the most important and relevant reason is that in case of an anomaly, you may get electrocuted.

Water and electricity are not good friends, and you may be the one to suffer the consequence in case they meet. The other reason is that you are likely to slip and fall in the wet grass, and being near a powered mower with sharp blades, you may sustain debilitating injuries.

However, there are circumstances that call for grass maintenance even when it is wet. The truth is that a regular blade may not be able to accomplish this task, and it may also sustain a lot of damage from the effort. You may also end up ruining the quality of your grass as it refuses to co-operate with the blade. So what to do?

There are blades that are actually made to be able to handle wet grass. They are usually dense and heavy and they have ‘teeth’. They rotate at extremely high speeds, using force to cut through the grass seamlessly. So what are these blades and what are their main characteristics?

This article will review a few of these blades and also offer a buying guide on how to find the best blade for mowing wet grass. It is my hope that you will come along!

Buying a Mower Blade – What you need to consider

Terrain of the ground – There are mower blades that are excellent for uneven terrain. Some others, however, are unable to adjust and reach lower patches of ground.

Obstacles on the ground – If you have grounds that have many obstacles, you should consider getting a blade that is reinforced. These will be able to get rid of the grass and the obstacles, but be careful not to cause the blade to snap.

Cost of blade – Find a blade that is both good and affordable. There is no point in buying an expensive blade that will need replacement soon. Find a blade that balances on durability and cost, putting in mind also that cheap is expensive.

Final Verdict

Tending your lawn in wet weather can be something of a tall order. The grass tends to grow faster during these seasons, and it definitely needs more care.

For this reason, it is imperative to invest in a blade that works in the wet grass just as well as it does on the dry grass. Ensure that you put the outlined factors in the short buying grass to help you pick a perfect fit for your lawn.

Happy mowing!
